HOW IT BEGAN

During my tenure as a health worker, several impactful encounters with community members reshaped my perspective on health issues in remote areas.

In one village, I met a family of seven. The father was suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis. Upon investigating the family, it was revealed that his 4-year-old child had also contracted the disease due to lack of immunization. The other four children, though uninfected, were not fully immunized and were at risk. Both parents struggled with alcoholism, and the entire family was infested with jiggers.

Another encounter involved a snakebite patient who couldn’t afford antisnake venom. Using my funds, I purchased the necessary medication, enabling her recovery. Later, I discovered her home was surrounded by bushes which should have been cleared to prevent snakes.

A third case involved a family of ten devastated by diarrhoea. Upon further investigation at the health facility, it was discovered that they were suffering from dysentery, typhoid fever, and E. coli infections, all caused by drinking contaminated water from an unprotected spring.

These profound experiences led to the establishment of the Pasca Medical Foundation, dedicated to bridging the healthcare gap for the needy. With your generosity and support, we will prevent diseases and ensure no one suffers or dies from preventable conditions.
